Dà jīn yá — “large golden buds” — sits beside Gong Ting in the premium tier of shu pu-erh, but the two grades are sorted for different things. Gong Ting is graded for delicacy: the smallest, most tender tips. Da Jin Ya is graded for size and the golden-reddish down (jīn háo, 金毫) covering each bud — a more visually striking leaf, with a correspondingly higher price than the standard grades below it.

This listing carries the real weight formats, wholesale price bands and brewing spec from the teamotea retail catalog (SKU 4.5). Read the full editorial profile for the grading history and how it sits against Gong Ting and the ten numbered grades between them.
